What we do

Services

Three kinds of help, explained without the buzzwords. Each section has real examples of the problems small businesses bring us.

Automation

In plain terms: if a person on your team does the same computer task over and over, a small program can usually do it for them, faster and without typos.

Automation is often the quickest win. It frees up hours every week and removes the “only Sarah knows how to do that” risk.

What this looks like in practice

  • Reports that build themselves. Your weekly sales or payroll summary is pulled together and emailed to you every Monday at 7 a.m.
  • No more retyping orders. Online form submissions, emails, or PDFs get read and entered into your spreadsheet or accounting software automatically.
  • Low-stock and reorder alerts. Get a text or email when inventory drops below a level you choose.
  • Keeping apps in sync. New customers in your online store show up in your email list and CRM without anyone copying them over.
  • Cleaning up exports. That messy CSV your software spits out gets tidied, combined, and saved where it belongs.
  • Automatic backups. Important spreadsheets and records are copied somewhere safe on a schedule.

Tools we commonly use: Python, Excel & Google Sheets, Power Automate, Zapier/Make, and the APIs of the software you already have.

Analytics

In plain terms: turning the information you already collect into clear answers, so decisions are based on facts instead of hunches.

You don’t need “big data” for this. Most small businesses are sitting on years of useful sales, customer, and expense records that nobody has had time to look at.

What this looks like in practice

  • A dashboard you’ll actually open. One screen showing sales, top products, and trends by week, location, or employee. Updates on its own.
  • Who’s coming back, and who isn’t. Spot your best repeat customers and the ones who quietly stopped buying.
  • Where the margin really is. Find the products or services that look busy but don’t make money once costs are included.
  • Planning for busy seasons. Use past patterns to estimate staffing and inventory needs ahead of time.
  • Which marketing works. Connect ad spend and promotions to actual sales, not just clicks.
  • A one-time deep dive. A clear written report answering a specific question, such as “should we open on Sundays?”

Tools we commonly use: Power BI, Looker Studio, Excel, Python, SQL, and Streamlit for custom web apps.

Data Integration

In plain terms: getting information that’s scattered across different apps and spreadsheets into one organized home, and keeping it up to date automatically.

This is the behind-the-scenes plumbing that makes automation and analytics reliable. It covers things like database design (“data modeling”), automatic data feeds (“pipelines”), and cleanup.

What this looks like in practice

  • One source of truth. Combine your point-of-sale system, online store, and spreadsheets into a single database so everyone sees the same numbers.
  • Graduating from spreadsheets. Move an overgrown, slow, or fragile Excel workbook into a proper database that several people can use safely.
  • Nightly data feeds. New data flows in from your tools every night (or every hour) without anyone pressing a button.
  • Cleaning up duplicates. Merge the three different versions of “Smith Plumbing LLC” and fix inconsistent records.
  • Switching software. Move your history from an old system into a new one without losing anything.
  • Room to grow. Set up a simple, low-cost data foundation now that won’t need to be thrown away as you grow.

Tools we commonly use: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, BigQuery, dbt, Python, and cloud schedulers. We'll recommend the simplest, cheapest option that does the job.

Our promises on every project

  • You own it. All code, databases, and dashboards belong to you. No lock-in.
  • Plain English. Every project ends with short documentation written for non-technical readers.
  • Right-sized. If a $20/month tool solves your problem better than custom work, we’ll tell you.
  • Your data stays private. We only access what’s needed and never share it.
